Bateman's Bay to Uladalla

Friday 19th March : It's Bateman's Bay today. It's as if they want you to pay for camping in this town! I walked hard so I could arrive ten minutes after the shop closed. My boots were worn in after three weeks and are now worn out in six :)

Letter : 20th March

I'm having a half day rest from walking here in Bateman's Bay. This place reminds me of a privileged people's holiday haven, away from ragamuffins like myself.

I must admit that I was probably striving a bit much to get here in the time frame I'd set, but after a good nights rest and general taking care of my aches and pains, I'm almost ready to set out again. Here's to quick recoveries hey!

To anyone who wanted to join me walking at any stage, just text me and we can sort something out. 0401 806 521 I've got a pretty good idea of how long it takes me to get from one place to another now. Company would be great.

All going well I'll be in Sydney in ten days from now. It should be interesting walking into that place and knowing I'm about halfway. My tuckerbag is reorganised into four sections; food, water, bits and bobs (camera, recharger, toiletries, writing paper etc), and extra bits (needle and thread, shoe lace, lighter ; these are the first things to dispense of if the load gets too much) I can't think of anything else I would possibly ever need.

There's a comfortable rhythm to my days and momentum in my stride and at the moment I can't imagine ever settling down. Oh and I cooked eggs on toast on a council BBQ for Brekky! A little thrill!

Sunday 21st March : As the sun goes down and the mozzies are poised I find myself nowhere in particular hoping to get a bit further before making camp. Will make Uladalla tomorrow at this rate.
